What is it?
This is the biggest regatta of its kind in New Zealand, and one of the Southern Hemisphere’s premier yachting events. The 88 division has a well-earned reputation for sailing and partying hard. Click here for more info
Make the most of your trip North and join the fleet for a bit of pre regatta "training" and cruising out in the bays
Home away from home at the dedicated "Club 88" berth at Opua Marina.
Feel free to race in cruising trim. Lots of us use our boats for cruising and many will be in cruising trim. 
Its also logistically difficult to change to boat to full race mode (other than sails) so boats can leave on an agreed amount of cruise gear .. squabs, crockery, cutlery, rum, beer etc
We will be talking to the bloody good fellas at TR Group once again about putting on a big truck to help out with logistics. It’ll take up all the race sails and can safely store the cruising sails for the duration of the regatta.
Return cruise — Rally to Kawau, Party at KIYC Sunday Night and then join the Anniversary Day Kawau to Auckland Race

All Young 88's interested in racing in the beautiful Bay of Islands.
To be eligible for the Young 88 One Design prizes boats must have a valid measurement certificate.
