THE PINNACLE OF YOUNG 88 RACING
The National Championships decide the fastest boat and crew in New Zealand. Prizes will be awarded for line, handicap, 1st Corinthian (no pros) crew, 1st mixed crew and a few fun awards. No matter where you are in the fleet there is always someone to race!

Who
Entry is open to any class measured Young 88
Class and Yachting NZ rules apply:
- Owner & helm/skipper must be current members of the Young 88 Owners Assocation (Join here)
- Skipper and crew must belong to a Yachting New Zealand affiliated club
- Must have a current Young 88 Owners Assocation measurement certificate. Contact the measurer for more information
When
Friday - 1800 hours - Mandatory Skippers Briefing, race packs & spare spinnaker sealing / Zoom option for other interested parties
Saturday - Racing followed by crew party/dinner with great spot prizes
Sunday - Racing followed by prize giving and dinner
What
Annual class national championships run under the Yachting NZ rules for qualifying National Championships
Where
- The waters adjacent to Browns Island including "The back paddock" between Motuihe and Eastern Beach/Howick .. basically wherever offers the best sailing on the day
- Regatta HQ will be Bucklands Beach Yacht Club and Marina
- Highly recomend boats are based at the marina for the weekend and that crews comute by ferry, Uber/taxi or car
