Two decent sized windward leewards with what looks like a fleet of at least 8 x 88s  refer http://bit.ly/1kS3vAW

The aim is to pitch the boats from up the ditch in the West against the boats from up the river in the East. Bring on the SMAK talk.

Combined scores of the top 3 Westies vs top 3 Easties line and handicap.

Don't like spinnakers? Sail no extras .. you wont be the only one and there is not a lot of speed difference.

 

Where
These races are sailed on the waters between Eastern Beach and Motuihe, aka the Team NZ "Back Paddock", some of the best sailing "grounds' in Auckland. Click here for approx race area

It is a bit of a trek from Westhaven 9.9nm so either take lots of coffee and rum or 1-2 it from Bucklands Beach/Half Moon Bay.


When
The 2 dates fit neatly on the Sundays between the RNZYS/RYC winter series.
