2019 SSANZ Two Handed Triple Series - Final Debrief

2019 SSANZ two handed triple series is in the bag with the weather providing a real test of men, women and machines. The first race was relatively light, race two was blowing dogs off chains and the last race was only moderate.

Saturday’s  race was won by James Corbett on Flash Gordon after son Harry gave dad an early Father's Day present executing a very Flash windward drop at Rocky Bay mark in 20 knots plus well shy of a dead run. Big lad that Harry!

That manoeuvre allowed Flash to hoist the kite faster on the reach to the Haystack passing Sailor Moon to take the lead.    Sailor Moon was second and War Machine third having worked their way up from deep in the fleet

.

Great to see even more new crews out for this race giving it plenty especially, Ali and Phil on Chromium and Zib and Rebecca on Skitzo.

Racing was followed by a raft up that was a cluster of all proportions taking longer to locate and put together than the race. The party went deep into the night. We found out that noise control does extend out to the island bays even in the middle of winter with a visit from the boys in blue. The naughty Piedys got the blame!

War Machine took out the series for the third year in a row followed by Voodoo and Flash Gordon in third. First on handicap for the series was a very consistent Split Decision.

All results can be found on the SSANZ site at this link or in one file specific to 88s at this link

Thanks again to the sponsors and volunteers at SSANZ who make it all happen. We'll be back.
