Hi all,
Given that the way forward for the start of this season is anything but clear we thought we'd have a shot (‘scuse the pun:)) at sharing our strategy......
Covid is causing all sorts of planning challenges, but we are refusing to surrender and cancel until there is no other option.
Yachting NZ offers their interpretation of the rules and regs we must follow at this link and linked links https://www.yachtingnz.org.nz/clubs/covid-19-latest-updates
- YNZ key points of the guidelines outlined by Sport New Zealand and the government are:
- Recreation needs to be completed on the day
- Only one household can go yachting and boating together
- Organised events are not allowed
Next up is the North Sails Owners Champs - Nov 20 out of BBYC. It is looking less likely that the Govt. will relax to the hinted Level 3 stage 2 or 3 before that date. We are working on contingency plans A through E for this event.
Young 88 40th Anniversary celebrations are planned in Auckland and Christchurch for December. The mainland is also wobbling a bit, but fingers crossed we get to the magic 90% x2 Jabs and into the red or amber light zone by then.
Keep an eye out for updates on the Young 88 Events / Calendar page here https://www.young88.org.nz/events/list/ and the class Facebook Page and events here https://www.facebook.com/YoungEightyEight
Sorry it is all a bit vague but that seems to be the nature of the beast right now. As the guidlines change we continue to alter plans accordingly.
Keep your eye on the class web site and Facebook pages and groups and feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions.
Regards
Mike
