Young 88 Update - January 2025

Hi All,

Welcome to 2025!!!

It's crazy to believe that we are already almost halfway through January. Summer cruising was a tad windier than we had anticipated, but like always, regardless of the conditions, it's great to be on the water!

This weekend is a big one - SailGP is finally in Auckland! If you've managed to get an on-water flag to head out, please send us photos of the experience. It will be great to see what our fleet is up to over the weekend.

The next big event for us is Bay of Islands Sailing Week. We have seven Y88s heading north for the regatta which is set to be a great one!

SAILGP - This Weekend!

If you're close to the harbour, you will be able to see the fleet out training and testing with the new foils. Seeing these foiling machines foiling around our backyard is just awesome!

If you've managed to get a course area flag, then please send your photos through so we can share them!

If anyone can get a Young 88 / F50 photo - then that would be rad!!!

It's time for us to hit up Bay of Islands Sailing Week!

This year, seven boats are taking it on, including Matt Mason and his team of rockstars. Matt recently purchased Mason Pepper's Young Magic , and we know he'll be keen to teach us a few lessons on the race course.

Our home away from home is the dedicated Young 88 pier at Opua Marina or the Ferry Marina. Party Central (we have a reputation to live up to!
